the beginner. In Part II., Chapters XI.-XII. may be omitted without losing the thread of the argument. In Part III., any one of the specific topics--viz., the political state, the economic order, the family--may be considered apart from the others. Some teachers may prefer to take Parts in their entirety. In this case, any two may be chosen.
