## Summary

俗語說的好：「上有天堂，下有蘇杭。」單說這蘇州，自從吳王闔閭築了城池直到 如今，那些古蹟都班班可考，不要說什麼唐、宋、元、明瞭。卻說蘇州城外有一所地方 ，叫作陸直，古時候叫作甫裡。《千家詩》上「甫裡先生烏角巾」，就是指它而說。這 陸直，姓陸的人居其大半。據他們自己說，一個個俱是陸龜蒙先生的後裔。明哲之後， 代有達人，也有兩個發過榜，做過官的，也有兩個中過舉，進過學的。列公不信，只要 到三高祠門口，看那報條貼得密密層層，有兩張新鮮的，有兩張被風吹雨打得舊的，都 寫著貴祠裔孫某某大人、某某老爺、某某相公，扳了指頭也算不了。春秋二祭，城裡撫 臺派了官下來，開著鑼，喝著道，到祠堂裡主祭。旁邊站著房分族長，朝珠補褂，頂子 花翎，沒有一個不是鄉紳面孔。所以陸直那些挖泥挑糞的平頭百姓，都敬重姓陸的如天 地鬼神一般。
