_Many periods (full stops) at the end of abbreviations were missing or invisible. These have been silently supplied. Commas printed in place of periods, and similar errors, were silently corrected. A few clearly incorrect periods were deleted._

_Some words and letters used italic type where roman would be expected, or the reverse. In particular, the form “Habitat _in Nnn_” was common. These irregularities have been silently adjusted._
