Profondément affligé de voir le Pet banni loin de ces murs, s'éloigner de la société des hommes, en gémissant tout bas; ma douleur s'est infiniment accrue, lorsque j'ai considéré que cette injuste proscription étoit contraire à la conservation de la république, et dans quel tems encore, respectables frères péteurs? dans un tems où, selon notre ancienne coutume, nous célébrons la fête du _Carnaval_ et du _Carême-prenant_.
