## Summary

_Ceylan._--Nous débarquons dans le grand tohu-bohu de l’escale, le mardi 1er novembre 1921 à 11 heures. Premières beautés cingalaises; deux dames vêtues du même petit corsage blanc, bien serré au corps, bien pincé à la taille, manches au coude, longue jupe; au moindre mouvement, la chair apparaît entre les deux parties du vêtement. Et les hommes sont plus ou moins vêtus, suivant leur rang social; les coolies-rikshaw, les tireurs de pousse-pousse, n’ont plus qu’un pagne, mais presque tous ont un parapluie. De tout ce que notre civilisation a élaboré, plus que le tabac et l’alcool, c’est ce qui semble le plus hautement apprécié. On le porte de toutes manières et aussi suspendu dans le dos.
