MORTIMER (to KENNEDY). Retire, good Kennedy; See that my uncle comes not unawares.

MARY (to KENNEDY, who hesitates, and looks at the QUEEN inquiringly). Go in; do as he bids you.

[KENNEDY retires with signs of wonder.
