Patzcuaro.--Lat. 19 deg. 30', long. 101 deg. 36', elev. 2200 m. A town near the southeastern shore of Lago de Patzcuaro; pine forest.

Patzcuaro (Lago de).--A large lake on the southwestern part of the Mexican Plateau at an elevation of 2165 m. It has no outlet. The lake is surrounded by mountains supporting pine and pine-oak forest. Along the southern and eastern shores of the lake are small marshes.
