Edith shows disgust, registering “You’re a fine kind of a man, that a woman has to make love to you.” Jackson and mother enter from bedroom; Edith goes to mother and suggests that they leave, which they do. After their exit, Jackson kids Teddy on his timidity, advises him to get drunk.
