## Summary

I Almindelighed ordner man vel sine Vers efter deres Indhold og Samhørighed; sørger saavidt muligt for, at det ene Digt ikke misklæder det andet. Slige Hensyn er der ladet haant om i denne Udgave; her hvor det har været mig om at gjøre at vise min digteriske Udvikling, har jeg foretrukket at ordne efter Tidsfølgen, der kun er bleven brudt et Par Steder, hvor en Digtcyklus var saa intimt sammenføjet, at en Omordning ikke syntes heldig. For at faa Udviklingsbilledet saa klart frem som muligt har jeg medtaget en Del Digte, som æstetisk set hører til Undermaalerne; det gjælder først og fremmest nogle Vers, som ligger langt tilbage i min Produktion; de er kun sat ind for Perspektivets Skyld.
