En af hans (Brosbølls) tidligste Erindringer fra Hjemmet er, at der paa Væggen i Storstuen hang et Billede af Ole Svendsen Bakke, den tapre Klokker fra Id, der blev berømt som Partigænger i den store nordiske Krig under Karl den Tolvtes Indfald i Norge. Formodentlig er Ole Svendsen Bakke Farfader til Brosbølls Moder, den norske Præstedatter, Ursula Svendsen, og saaledes i dobbelt Forstand Stamfader til vor danske »Gjøngehøvding«, idet Duften af den tapre Klokkers Bedrifter saa at sige aflagredes i dette Hjem.
